Cockapoo For Sale
An often asked question is how much should I pay for a Cockapoo puppy.
Unlike our other purchases, this is one thing you do not want to go in search of a bargain for.
The popularity of the Cockapoo breed has led to all kinds of breeder and puppy agents whose sole motivation in dog breeding is profit.
Legitimate breeders are always seeking to breed the best examples of a Cocker Spaniel and a Poodle to provide a healthy puppy, and carry out all the necessary pre-breeding screening and health checks.
It’s worth having an understanding of the main costs a reputable breeder will incur.
- Stud fees
- Travel costs
- Hip and elbow scores
- Health scan at 28 days
- Second scan
- Whelping box
- Puppies arrival
- Feeding bottles
- Puppy food
- Many incidentals
There other costs, like vets fees which will vary from litter to litter. Euthanasia of unhealthy puppies can also be necessary, something people don’t often talk about, but is a consideration in dog breeding.
Cockapoo puppies price
It’s not just low prices of £250-400 (below $500) range but also very high prices of £1,500 ($2,000). Unrealistic or unusual process are a sign that you are dealing with a breeder with integrity that has the dog’s interests at their heart.
More than one third of people admit they are clueless about where to find a good breeder with the majority starting with an internet search.
Chocolate Cockapoo Puppy For Sale
The most popular searched for Cockapoo at the moment is the chocolate cockapoo followed closely by red Cockapoos. It’s easy to understand why-they are adorable.
With demand so high, and the unscrupulous breeder ready to supply the demand with puppy farm Cockapoos, this is a massive problem.
More than one in five people suffer financially by having to fork out expensive Vet bills if they spent 20 minutes or less researching where to buy a puppy. And that doesn’t count the emotional cost of a family coming to terms with a puppy that has parvovirus or hip dysplasia.
So How Much should you pay?
I searched through some registered breeders and to check 2018 prices. £850 – £1,250 is a reasonable price.
If the price is outside of this parameter have an especially enquiring mind about how and where the puppies come from. For reputable breeder, profits are very much secondary consideration. And breeding Cockapoos and any other dog breed is an expensive business.

For a greater understanding of the Cockapoo breed, My First Cockapoo is a good place to start. It contains a link to the 2018 updated UK registered breeding list. It’s not essential to use a CCGB registered breeder, but its a good place to start and gives a lot of people peace of mind. If they don’t have a puppy for your that will certainly be able to make good recommendations for a breeder in your area and probably warn you off a few as well.
